Boats are no longer being used to search for a 76-year old grandfather missing since last Thursday off the coast of Busselton.

Australind man Ian Shardlow is believed to have fallen overboard from his twin-hulled yacht, the Two-Up, late on Thursday, sparking an intensive land, sea and air search.

The boats were called back yesterday, but crews will continue to comb the shoreline till the end of the week, a local police spokesman said.

Mr Shardlow was initially thought to have been wearing a life jacket, but police later realised all six were accounted for.
