Mystery over men s injuries
Mystery over men's injuries

Police are trying to determine what happened to two men who suffered severe head injuries in Joondalup in the early hours of this morning.

Det-Sen. Const. Jamie Paterson said a 22-year-old man was in an induced coma in Royal Perth Hospital and his 20-year-old friend had suffered skull fractures in the mysterious incident.

He said police had spoken briefly to the younger man but he could not recall how he and his friend had been injured. Police believed the men had either been assaulted or had been hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Grand Boulevard and Boas Avenue about 3:30am.

Police had not yet been able to access security footage of the incident and would do so tomorrow morning.

The 20-year-old was transported to RPH by ambulance after he went into a Joondalup kebab shop asking for help. It was initially believed he had suffered his injuries in a fall.

His friend managed to get to his home in the wake of the incident and was later taken to hospital.

One of the men presented at Kosmos Kebab with serious head injuries which were initially thought to be the result of a fall. A second victim was only recently identified today with head injuries. He has no recollection of what took place.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
