Former Seven Perth rising star Sally Bowrey has found a high-profile new role following her move to the east coast.

The popular journalist is set to temporarily join the network's breakfast show, Sunrise, just a month after relocating to Sydney with her husband, property development manager Richard Seddon.

Bowrey is expected to fill in for the show's regular Sydney reporter, Edwina Bartholomew, who will be in London to cover the 2012 Olympic Games. She will go on to present the weather on Sydney's 6pm news while regular presenter Sarah Cumming is on maternity leave.
