A Coolbellup grandfather has decided to retire after winning a $2.1 million Lotto prize at the weekend.

The man said he was “absolutely rapt” with the Division 1 Saturday Lotto prize and had danced around the room when he realised he had won.

He said he wanted to pay off his mortgage and help out his children and grandchildren before indulging his love of the outdoors with a new boat and a car.

“There’s probably room for a few holidays too,” the man said.

The winning ticket was purchased from Coolbellup Newsagency.

Lotterywest is encouraging people to check their tickets after failing to hear from the winner of a $1.4 million prize in the July 7 Saturday Lotto draw.

“We encourage anyone who may have bought a ticket from this outlet in the draw to double check those secret hiding places as they may just be holding the winning ticket,” Lotterywest spokeswoman Pina Compagnone said.

The unclaimed winning ticket was sold at Hilton Plaza Newsagency.
