Perth's sunny weather will be short lived with heavy rains and the risk of a squally thunderstorm forecast for tomorrow morning.

The Bureau of Meteorology predicts significant downfalls to drench the metropolitan area about 8am tomorrow.

Motorists are advised to take care on the roads on their commute to work.

The risk of a squally thunderstorm looms, but the conditions are not expected to be as severe as last week's thunderstorms.

No severe weather warnings have been issued.

Showers and gusty north-westerly winds are expected to ease from midday.

A minimum of 12 degrees is forecast and a maximum of 20 degrees.

Possible showers are forecast for Wednesday with the minimum temperature dropping to 7 degrees and the maximum 22 degrees.

For the remainder of the week, party cloudy conditions are forecast with the mercury set to plummet to a minimum of 3 degrees on Thursday and 4 degrees on Friday - a maximum of 18 degrees is forecast for both days.

Chilly nights are forecast for the weekend too-a minimum of 3 degrees is predicted for Saturday with a maximum of 18 degrees.

Sunday is forecast to be a little warmer with a minimum of 4 degrees and a maximum of 19 degrees.
