Bright plans for Chinatown
Central Institute of Technology interior design students' vision to transform Perth's Chinatown district.

Interior design students have unveiled what they think Northbridge's Chinatown should look like after Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi described the area on Roe Street as tired and run down.

The Central Institute of Technology students showed how Chinatown could be transformed into a vibrant commercial space and entertainment hub.

They suggested re-naming the area Little Asia Town, replacing the ornamental archway leading to Chung Wah Lane and opening a 24-hour Asian marketplace.
