UFO claim quashed

A metal sphere that crashed into a remote area of Namibia and believed to be a UFO has been identified as a hydrazine tank.

Locals heard a loud explosion when the object crashed into earth and the impact left a 13ft wide crater.

The mysterious object, which crashed in the country in November, caused a national security alert and led to NASA being called in to identify the item.

However, it has now been identified as a hydrazine tank from a rocket, which would have been used in a satellite launch.

'For anyone wondering what it actually is, it's likely a 39-litre hydrazine bladder tank," Gawker reported on its website.

"They're used on unmanned rockets for satellite launches, which would explain why they're falling down in such a specific geographic footprint."
