Cosby says he's far from finished
Comedian Bill Cosby says the scandal enulfing him won't bring his ongoing stand-up tour to a premature end, despite another alleged victim coming forward.
In a new statement, the 77-year-old writes, "Dear Fans: For 53 years you have given me your love, support, respect and trust. Thank you!
"I can't wait to see your smiling faces and warm your hearts with a wonderful gift - LAUGHTER. I'm ready!"
Cosby also thanked fans in Louisiana and staff at the Heymann Performing Arts Center in Lafayette, Louisiana for refusing to postpone his Friday night show, amid a series of gig cancellations linked to his sexual abuse scandal.
He adds, "I thank you, the theatre staff, the event organizers and the Lafayette Community for your continued support and coming to experience family, fun entertainment. Hey, Hey, Hey - I'm far from finished."
The statement comes days after former model Heidi Thomas became the latest woman to accuse Cosby of sexual assault.
She recently told CNN that she became a victim 1984 after the comedian Cosby offered to help kickstart her career and allegedly gave her alcohol so she could experience what it felt like to be drunk during an acting lesson.
Thomas claims she woke up and Cosby was forcing himself on her.
