Abdul wants to keep dancing in OZ

Emmy award winning choreographer Paula Abdul is praying So You Think You Can Dance will return next year because she loves the show and Australia.

Abdul told AAP she's committed to being a judge on the Network Ten series in 2015 providing the station renews the reality series.

The show has not set the world alight in the ratings and was even shifted from Sunday to Thursday nights to lift its lagging performance.

"All I can do is hope and pray," Abdul said.

"My favourite thing is to be around talent ... absolutely I'd be back, without blinking an eye.

"This is a labor of love for me and I have fallen in love with Australia and Australians."

The reality series reaches its climax on Thursday when contestants Lauren Seymour, Renelle Jones, Michael Dameski and Jay Johns face off in the finale.

The winner receives $100,000 and the choice of a role with The Australian Ballet, master dance classes with Red Bull Flying Bach in Berlin or a season with Burn The Floor.

Abdul says all four finalists have class but because it's a viewer voted competition, it does not necessarily mean the best dancer will win.

"These four dancers are amazing and Australia has got it right for the final and I'm happy whichever way the vote goes," Abdul said.

"It's not who the best dancer is, but who is the audience favourite and that could be for various reasons."

Abdul says the dancing talent on the series runs a lot deeper than the final four.

She expects several contestants in the top 10 to succeed overseas including Youngkwang "Blond" Joungs and Patric Kuo and says she's happy to assist.

"I believe the four finalists and a handful in the top 10 are going to have stellar careers," she said.

"I'm a lever puller for many people and I do it for the ones who deserve it, have a wonderful outlook and good head on their shoulders.

"Blond would be snatched up and so would Patric but all of the top 10 have the ability to have a successful career, not just here but in America too."

The final includes performances by international singer Ed Sheeran, Jason De Rule and Sam Jones and tap dancing troupe Tap Dogs.

  • So You Think You Can Dance finale screens on Thursday at 7.30pm on Network Ten.
