Sherlock Holmes is renowned for his clinical brilliance and disdain for anything as mundane as feelings, so it is baffling that this reboot seems determined to portray him as a poor little rich boy with daddy issues and desperate need for affection. Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) has to confront his addictions when a finance executive is murdered with a heroin overdose. When a bit of digging uncovers more suspicious deaths, Holmes needs to discover if an employee is murdering their way to the top of the corporate ladder. Elementary is a solid entry in to the "quirky detective" genre, but falls short of the Holmes legend.
