Seven spins some rating s magic

Illusionist Cosentino spun a bit of television rating's magic on Wednesday night.

The Victorian, who was last year's runner-up in Australia's Got Talent, topped the ratings with his show Cosentino - The Grand Illusionist on the Seven Network.

His one-off special pulled an audience of 1.285 million and finished ahead of Seven News (1.206 million), providing the network with the quinella.

The Nine Network filled the next three placings with Nine News (1.112 million), Today Tonight (1.051 million) and A Current Affair (1.026 million), finishing third, fourth and fifth respectively.

ABC News held steady in sixth position with 1.106 million.

Big Brother's numbers have dropped below a million but the show still sits inside the Top 10.

The reality show was seventh with 996,000 viewers while its main rival in timeslot and age demographic Home And Away was eighth with an audience of 964,000.

Criminal Minds was ninth (953,000) and Gruen Planet was 10th (946,000).
