Ten has announced that its new musical talent show - I Will Survive - will premiere on August 22, after the 2012 London Olympics.

Hosted by Packed to the Rafters star *Hugh Sheridan *, below, the series sets out to find Australia's top singer, dancer and actor by pitting 12 talented male contestants against one another.

Each will vie for the chance to perform in a high-profile Broadway musical, with the winner also awarded a $250,000 cash prize.

The show's premiere season will draw inspiration from the movie and musical, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and to set the tone of the theme, the performances will be set against the scenic backdrop of the Australian outback.


  • Jason Donovan *and * Stephan Elliott *have been sworn in as the show's two resident judges, with celebrity guests including *Asher Keddie *, *Kelly Rowland *, *Toni Collette *, * Rachael Taylor *and *Rachel Griffiths *.
