Minaj finishes in fine style

To the unsuspecting eye witnessing the crowd flocking into Perth Arena on Saturday night, it would have looked like a circus.

There were people donning everything from handmade shirts to pink wigs. This was all for Nicki Minaj, one of modern music's biggest rap and pop stars.

With curtains covering the stage, it took a long time for Minaj to finally hit the stage. Opening up with the heavy Beez In the Trap, her roots are grounded in rap and this was shown early on, with Did It on 'Em also being a highlight.

Using a glossy pink microphone, she put on a wildly energetic performance. The "seated" section was standing throughout most of the spectacle and her outfit changes and professionalism on the stage proved that she has talent.

Going through her catalogue quickly, the songs from her albums Pink Friday and Pink Friday Reloaded were the ones that stunned the crowd the most.

With seven dancers, a dazzling backdrop with her logo and a DJ who excited the audience while she exited the stage to alter her costumes - not to mention the fire and sparks incorporated throughout - an unhappy face was not to be had while exiting.

It was also her birthday, and on the big screens she had video shoutouts from friends Kanye West, Lil Wayne and our own Keith Urban.

Pink confetti and balloons were flying from the stage and being the last show of her Australian tour, it was both a brilliant and fitting finale.
