New Zealand band The Checks have split after almost 10 years together.
The rockers, who formed in early 2003, found fame after Michael Stipe asked them to support R.E.M. on tour in 2005.
A statement posted on their Twitter page reads: "Dear friends, we have broken up. Thanks for the love and support over the last 10 years. We (couldn't) have asked for more! Love the Checks."
The Checks, who also opened for acts including The Killers, Muse and AC/DC during their career, released two albums.
