She may have left Perth off her upcoming concert tour but award-winning songbird Delta Goodrem was all smiles when she fronted eager fans in Joondalup yesterday as part of a lightning promotional visit.
To coincide with the release of her new single Dancing With a Broken Heart, the singer appeared at Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City to perform several songs off her coming album and sign autographs.
Goodrem, who at 27 already has three number one albums to her name, said she loved having the opportunity to get up close and personal with the crowd.
"I was so young when I started doing this and I was always so fortunate that people came to the in-stores and we got a chance to meet," she said. "It's really nice to put faces to these people who have the music in their lives."
Dressed in a pink animal print maxi dress, Goodrem waved to the audience before singing three new songs and an acoustic medley of her past hits Not Me, Not I and Lost Without You.
A big crowd turned out to watch the 10-time Aria winner perform, many waving signs and copies of the new single.
Addressing her fans, Goodrem said: "This is so nice, what a lovely welcome. You're gorgeous."
Later she hinted she would be resuming her role of coach on The Voice when it returns next year after the success of its first season.
Diehard fan Lauren, 16, was in line for an autograph and said she couldn't wait to meet Goodrem.
"She's got such a great voice and personality and I've loved her growing up," she said. "Just the chance to see her is all I want."
Goodrem is set to perform a series of stripped back concert shows on the east coast later this year but Perth and Adelaide were left off the line-up.
However, she said the shows were designed to promote her fourth studio album Child of the Universe, which will be released in October, and she would be coming back to WA in 2013 for a big arena tour.
