Basil Zempilas continues to win over listeners with his 6PR breakfast show with Steve “Millsy” Mills.

Zempilas, a father of two and Seven Perth sports presenter and AFL commentator, and Mills’ breakfast show was the strongest performer in today’s radio ratings jumping 1.5 percentage points to grab 11.7 per cent of the market.

While 720ABC’s Eoin Cameron is still number one in the lucrative timeslot (down 0.7 to 15.0), Zempilas and Mills are now third overall in the market with only one point separating them from Mix 94.5’s breakfast crew featuring Shane McFarlane, Kymba Cahill and Dean Clairs (down 2.2 to 12.7).

There wasn’t much movement elsewhere in the second survey released for the year by Gfk.

Despite a slight drop, mix94.5 maintained its position as Perth’s No. 1 station with a 13.9 per cent overall market share (down 1.0 points), followed by 96FM (down 0.2 to 11.3) and Nova 93.7 (down 0.3 to 11.1).

After a savage first survey result, hit92.9 managed to crawl back just 0.1 percentage points for a 6.5 per cent market share. Hit92.9 sits in seventh position overall, significantly below 6PR in sixth place (up 0.6 to 9.0).
