Twisted Sisters are heading to Luna Leederville next Thursday for a one-off screening of their new horror movie American Mary.

The Canadian identical twins - born Jen and Sylvia Soska - will present the film, described as a "surreal blood-soaked revenge flick", and host a Q&A after the screening.

The Soskas, who launched their directorial careers with the film Dead Hooker in a Truck, have been described as the most interesting movie collaborators since the Coen brothers.

Their latest movie is about a cash-strapped surgical intern Mary Mason (Katherine Isabelle) who supports herself through college by servicing members of the underground body-modification community with bizarre body alternations.

After a brutal forced encounter with a senior surgeon at her medical college, Mary sets out on a path of revenge that sees her become as adept at torture as she is at body alterations.

Next week's screening, hosted by writer, producer and horror aficionado Lindsay Hallam, kicks off at 8.15pm with a pre-movie party featuring live music and pizzas.

The film starts at 9pm. Tickets at Luna and online at www.lunapalace.com.au.
