Twilight star Kristen Stewart's latest film On The Road was given a low-key UK premiere on Thursday night in the absence of its leading female.

The actress caused a stir last month when it emerged she had cheated on her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson, and did not fly to London to promote the film, based on Jack Kerouac's 1957 book of the same name.

Instead, the shamed actress will make her first official appearance since her cheating scandal at the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada next month, for On the Road.

Stewart, who portrays Marylou, has been confirmed to attend the annual Toronto event, which opens on September 6, alongside cast mates Viggo Mortensen, Amy Adams and Garrett Hedlund, reports People.com.

Pattinson has already had to put his personal troubles aside and focus on work - he hit the red carpet for the New York premiere of his new film Cosmopolis on Monday and has continued to fulfill all of his press commitments since.

He split from Stewart after news of her "indiscretion" broke last month and has refused to even mention her name in TV appearances this week.
