Perth-born theatre star Lucy Durack wowed audiences at the opening of Legally Blonde: The Musical in Sydney last week.
After the audiences gave a standing ovation at the first show, it seems the 29-year-old - who studied at the prestigious WA Academy of Performing Arts - has already set tongues wagging about her star talents.
Backed by a stellar all-Australian cast including Rob Mills, Cameron Daddo and Helen Dallimore, Durack played leading lady Elle Wood - a ditzy go-getter blonde made famous by actress Reese Witherspoon in the 2001 film, Legally Blonde.
Fairfax Media's Jason Blake described Durack's Elle as a "dazzler" before praising her voice.
"She sings flawlessly, sells her lines like she's playing Shakespeare's Portia," he wrote.
Jo Litson, of Sydney's Sunday Telegraph, also sang Durack's praises: "Lucy Durack is perfect as Elle."
While the production will only be in Sydney, Durack expected up to 30 friends and family to fly over from Perth to attend the opening night.
