There's no denying Matt Stone is one of the hottest things in food at the moment.
The young Perth chef is dishing up winners all over the country, having been named West Australian Young Chef of the Year in 2010 and now celebrating the opening of the second Greenhouse in Sydney.
"It's been really, really busy and (the restaurant) has been received well over here by the general public and the media," Stone tells Access All Areas over the phone from the NSW capital, where he has been based for a number of weeks helping set up the new eatery, which opened on February 12.
"It's great that people are sitting up and taking notice of what we're doing and thinking about what they're eating and where it's coming from, taking some of our values home with them."
Stone, who assisted in the development of Pata Negra in Nedlands, joined the Greenhouse on St Georges Terrace as head chef in 2009 at age 21, leading a young and dynamic team.
The confirmed eligible bachelor has been splitting his time between Perth and Sydney over the past few months but his focus remains in WA and will return home tomorrow to conduct a cooking demonstration at the Osborne Park Kitchen Warehouse store from 1pm to 3pm.
Stone says he will cook the red curry recipe he prepared on Channel 7's Iron Chef when he competed against Neil Perry.
Beyond this weekend, Stone is looking to further expand and reveals foodies overseas could soon be treated to his gourmet organic cuisine.
"We've got a few interesting projects in the works for the Greenhouse," he says.
"Nothing's 100 per cent set in stone at the moment but some big things are happening."
