Kidman wows small NSW town

Anew brunette hair colour hasn't fooled locals keen on a glimpse of Hollywood star *Nicole Kidman *.

The Oscar-winning actress is causing a stir in the small local community surrounding Canowindra, in NSW's central west, where she is filming her new movie Strangerland.

Despite posing for photos with local children, above, the star is said to be largely keeping to herself in her trailer.

Meanwhile cast mates *Hugo Weaving *and *Joseph Fiennes *have been spotted at the local pub.

The film is set in the outback and revolves around the disappearance of two teenagers.

Canowindra's main street is set to get a makeover and the town will be sprayed with red dust to transform it into the Australian desert.

Kidman is believed to be staying locally at a secret location.

Filming will continue in the area for about two more weeks before moving to Broken Hill in the State's far west.
