Trunfio shows off tattoo

Nicole Trunfio appears to have had a permanent memento inked to remember her time filming Paper Planes in Perth.

The Merredin-raised supermodel, who has been based in New York for 10 years, recently returned to her home state with her US musician boyfriend Gary Clark Jr to film the Robert Connolly-directed film alongside fellow WA star Sam Worthington.

Yesterday she posted a snap to her Instagram page of a simple tattoo on her wrist, believed to be a Celtic love symbol, which she linked to the upcoming flick.

"All that's left #lovetattoo #paperplanes Thanks Sam Worthington and Robert Connolly can't wait to see the film," Trunfio wrote.

The 27-year-old, left, later added the hashtag: "#actingmakesmegiddyinside".

Though Trunfio has appeared in several small movie roles already, Paper Planes marks one of her biggest acting projects to date.

She has been open about her desire to move from modelling to acting, previously telling Access All Areas: "I am looking at roles as I am passionate about film."

Rockingham-raised Worthington was also back in Perth to begin filming the 3D feature earlier this month but the trip lasted little more than a week, with the Avatar star jetting to Hong Kong with girlfriend Lara Bingle late last week.
