This time of year hits close to home for the Ledger family, who will this month come together to remember the late *Heath Ledger * on the fifth anniversary of his death.

Putting aside their differences, Heath's parents *Kim * and *Sally Ledger *- who split when Heath was young - reunited for their first interview together since the *Perth *-born actor's shock death in 2008.

The interview features in the latest New Idea magazine - out today - where the pair touch on the looming five-year anniversary of their son's death, which falls on Tuesday, January 22.

"It has been an extremely difficult five years, as not a day goes by when we don't feel the immense loss of Heath," Sally told the magazine.

When asked about Heath's seven-year-old daughter *Matilda Rose *- whom he had with actress *Michelle Williams *- Sally spoke of how her granddaughter resembles her late son.

"Matilda is indeed very much like her dad," she said. "However, she also possesses the beauty of her mamma - lucky girl!"

Kim agreed that Matilda had an uncanny likeness to Heath.

"Matilda has the same walk as Heath and is such a respectful little kid," he said, adding that, despite the distance, they still keep in contact with Williams and Matilda. "Our family has the most wonderful relationship with both Matilda and Michelle; we talk frequently and visit as often as we can."
