After a frenzied year spent travelling the globe, walking in fashion shows and shooting high-end campaigns, a raft of WA models are back on home soil to enjoy some festive down time.

Many are back home visiting family and friends for the first time in months, with the Christmas/new year period offering a rare opportunity for models to take a brief break from their busy fashion schedules.

Among them are Chadwick's Perth girls Nicole Harrison and Roelene Coleman.

Both have had successful years abroad, with Harrison - who recently auditioned to become a Victoria's Secret model - based primarily in New York after signing to prestigious agency IMG.

Relocating to Sydney earlier this year, Coleman's profile in the modelling scene has continued to grow since she signed with New Zealand agency N Model Management, which has seen the South African-born beauty walk in 11 shows at New Zealand Fashion Week.

Also back in WA are a contingent of shining stars from Vivien's Models, including 16-year-old model-turned-actress Courtney Eaton, Britt Nicholas, Emily Green and Aurelia Gliwski.

Having just wrapped up filming in Namibia for the latest Mad Max flick, which also stars Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron, Bunbury-born Eaton has returned home with mum Gerda for the first time in months.

It has also been a big year for Victoria Park-raised Nicholas, who is based in Sydney and recently shot a TV ad for Natures Organics and also featured in look books for Seduce, Lucy in the Sky and House of Quirky.

Green has also turned heads since moving to Sydney, having shot a look book for Alannah Hill and featured in shoots for Black Magazine, Culture Magazine and Remix Magazine as well as walking in the spring/summer show for designer Lisa Ho.

Also rising to prominence in New York is 26-year-old Gliwski, whose credits include modelling for Guess and Victoria's Secret PINK collection.

After spending time with family in Perth, Gliwski will return to the Big Apple to kick off another busy year.

To celebrate the girls' successes in the past year, Vivien's Tracey Martin, Christine Fox and Caroline Nankivell put on an intimate Christmas bash for some of the models back in town at Luxe Bar on Friday.
