She may have only released her X Factor winner's album on Monday but Samantha Jade is already planning her next step to becoming Australia's newest pop princess.

The Morley songbird said she was going to start writing music for her next album during The X Factor tour, which kicks off early next month and heads to Perth with a show at Challenge Stadium on January 16.

"I am going to start writing while on tour. I always read about these celebrities who write while on touring - and I am actually going to be that person," Jade told AAA with a laugh while in Perth yesterday as part of a whirlwind publicity tour.

"I want to make a really good record; I don't want to make a record to be quick. I want to buckle down and work hard and produce something that my fans will love."

During her time on the smash-hit Seven reality talent search, Jade, 25, was often referred to as a burgeoning *Kylie Minogue * - a comparison that blows Jade away.

"Being put in the same sentence as Kylie is an honour because that is someone I look up to so much," she said.

"I think what she has done as an Australian female artist is just incredible. If I can follow in any of those footsteps I will be very grateful."

Jade will return home to Perth with her Swedish record producer boyfriend Christian Nilsson for a family Christmas.

"The most important thing to me is to come home and spend time with family - and I am happiest in Perth, I think that is because it is my home," she said.

"As soon as I get off that plane there is just this sense of security."

During her week back home, Jade will also perform a special concert on December 31 at Eve nightclub at Crown Perth to help farewell 2012.

Jade said she wanted to ring in the New Year in her hometown as a way of giving back to her local fans who have been so supportive.
