Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie plan on spending more time at their estate in the French Riviera because France’s restrictions on paparazzi offer their family a "greater sense of normalcy," the actor says.

In an interview with broadcaster ABC’s Good Morning America on Wednesday, Pitt said that the couple and their six children planned to split their time between homes in New Orleans, Los Angeles and Miraval in the south of France.

Collectively nicknamed Brangelina, the Hollywood power couple is among the world’s top targets for celebrity-watching boulevard media.

"They get more sense of normalcy there. We’re not as hounded at certain places there," he said.

"France, especially - they have rules about... photographing kids. And I think they’re more sensitive to it after the Diana incident."

Strict regulations governing paparazzi were implemented in France after Princess Diana, ex-wife of Britain’s Prince Charles, was killed in 1997 in Paris in a high-speed car crash as her driver attempted to elude photographers.

Pitt said the French "think they’re as cool as anyone else," meaning that they allowed his family members to get on with their day.

"We’re not being bothered" there, he said.
