Justin Bieber had a run in with the law just hours after rumours surfaced that he had proposed to Selena Gomez.
The Boyfriend singer - who was dumped by his girlfriend of two years last week amid reports she felt she couldn't trust him to be faithful - was pulled over in his white Ferrari for making a dangerous left turn in West Hollywood on Tuesday night and was issued a ticket after police officers discovered his registration for the supercar had expired.
Law enforcement sources confirmed to gossip website TMZ.com that the 18-year-old Canadian pop star - who was driving with a friend at the time - was completely compliant with police and was issued a ticket for not having valid registration.
But the singer didn't appear to be too concerned about his minor brush with the law as he posted a picture of the police car on his Instagram site.
Meanwhile, sources close to the star have dismissed reports he proposed to 20-year-old Gomez twice prior to their high-profile split.
Website PerezHilton claimed that a source revealed: "They have agreed to never, never, ever talk about the proposals. It would be far too damaging to his reputation if people found out that a smaller star turned down a bigger star."
But rival website GossipCop claimed the story was completely false and that Gomez dumped Bieber because he was "too needy".
Gomez is reportedly struggling to get over their break-up but is happy to have the support of her family and friends.
A source told EOnline: "It's hard for her. It's really good she's with family and friends."
