A representative for Heidi Klum has hit back at the supermodel's estranged husband Seal after he criticised her rumoured romance with her bodyguard.

Klum separated from Seal in January this year after almost seven years of marriage, and filed for divorce in April. Seal lodged his own paperwork shortly after.

The model was photographed getting close to Martin Kristen, her security guard for the last four years, during a family vacation in Italy last month, and Seal apparently accused her of starting a relationship with Kristen when he opened up about his personal life on Friday.

"Look, boys, you know that's what happens when two people separate. They move on and that generally means other people in their lives. I certainly don't expect Heidi to all of a sudden become a nun. But as always my main priority is the emotional wellbeing of our children," Seal told

"To be quite honest, if there is going to be somebody else in their lives, I'd much rather it was a familiar face. I guess the only thing I would have preferred is that ... Whilst I didn't expect any better from him, I would have thought Heidi would have shown a little bit more class…before deciding to fornicate with the help, as it were."

A spokesperson for Klum has since released a statement on her behalf, telling Us Weekly, "It is sad that Seal has to resort to this kind of behaviour and spread these untruths about the mother of his children."

Seal and Klum have four kids together - Henry, Johan, Lou and Leni.
