US TV personality Rosie O'Donnell has announced that she married her fiancee, Michelle Rounds, in a private ceremony in June.
The couple wed in New York on June 9, just days before Rounds had surgery to treat desmoid tumours.
O'Donnell, 50, announced the news in an online blog on Monday. She also said that she is selling original paintings on eBay to raise money for the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation.
The couple, who announced their engagement in December last year, had planned to wed in August. They moved up the date, right before Rounds' first of several surgeries to remove gastrointestinal desmoid tumours, a representative for O'Donnell told People.com.
Desmoid tumours occur rarely and can affect almost any area of the body. The tumours can be fatal.
O'Donnell has had health issues of her own. In August she revealed that she had recently suffered a heart attack.
