Arnold Schwarzenegger has been supporting his longtime friend Sylvester Stallone as he mourns the loss of his son, Sage.

The two actors became the world's biggest actions stars in the 1980s and they are back on screen together in new movie The Expendables 2.

Schwarzenegger has now revealed he is supporting Stallone the best he can and praises friends and family for helping the latter.

"He is going through a tough time and I think the important thing is that he has the support that he needs and that he has a great family; he has wonderful children and a wonderful wife," he tells US news show Entertainment Tonight. "He has wonderful friends around him, so we all supported him ... It's a very difficult time for him but he's going to pull through it."

Sage Stallone, 36, was found dead in his Hollywood Hills apartment on July 13.
