Rihanna's former accountants have hit back at the singer after she accused them of mismanaging her money, insisting she only has herself to blame for her troubles.
The pop star filed a lawsuit against New York firm Berdon LLP at Manhattan Federal Court last month, claiming they failed to properly handle her cash flow and expenses and charged an above-average 22 per cent commission fee.
The accountants have now responded to the legal action and have urged a judge not to award Rihanna any compensation, insisting it was the singer's "own financial action or inaction" which led to her money issues.
In the documents, obtained by TMZ.com, company bosses also claim Rihanna signed a letter agreeing to the commission fee. A ruling on the case has yet to be made.
