Juno star Ellen Page has filed a complaint with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) after receiving threatening messages via Twitter.
LAPD authorities obtained a warrant making Twitter bosses hand over information relating to two accounts believed to be behind the posts, which have since been taken down.
"The LAPD recently sent a search warrant to the micro-blogging site, demanding information regarding two Twitter accounts believed to be associated with an individual bent on killing the actress," reports celebrity gossip website TMZ.com.
The legal paperwork shows the messages were posted in June.
In one of the tweets, the user allegedly threatens to "murder Ellen Page".
Although the messages have since been deleted, an unknown person phoned a film festival Page was a part of in Los Angeles and told staff of plans to "kill Page".
Page's spokespeople haven't commented on the claims.
