For a second it looks like the Duchess of Cambridge has lost her enviable status as one of the world's best dressed woman.
But look again and you'll realise South Africa's Marie Claire has photo shopped Kate Middleton's head onto a model wearing a questionable local design for its August magazine cover.
The editor of South Africa's Marie Claire has defended the image, calling it "fan art".
"Kate Middleton: Fashion's New Royal Icon wears SA's Best Local Designs," says the cover line next to the "photo" of the Duchess in a tribal print dress.
At the bottom on the cover, the magazine then made light of the photo shopping, stating: "Of course she doesn't. But she should."
The magazine also features four more photo shopped images of the Duchess, who hasn't modelled for any glossy magazine covers before, inside.
"The cover is actually a hyper-real illustration of Kate, meant to be a fan art tribute to fashion’s new royal icon," editor Aspasia Karras told British newspaper the Telegraph
