The Australia's Got Talent semifinals kicked off last night in spectacular fashion. The star of the show was diva *Laura Loe *, * *who received a standing ovation. Judges *Dannii Minogue *, *Kyle Sandilands *and *Brian McFadden *were blown away by her performance and Loe has already emerged as a favourite to take home the $250,000 grand prize.
"I was not expecting you to walk out, balls out a massive big rock performance, tear down the house, showing Australia you could possibly win this show," McFadden said.
Loe's parents flew from Malaysia to see her perform after not being convinced singing was for her.
Earlier in the night, nine-year-old drumming sensation *Jagger Alexander-Erber *opened the show with a medley of rock classics.
"You have the talent, you have performance skills and you have charisma, and with those three things you should be filling the biggest stages all over the world one day," Minogue said.
Next up was singer *Cody Bell *, who performed a rendition of Lego House by *Ed Sheeran *. Sandilands was impressed with Bell for taking to the stage in spite of his heartache from schoolyard bullies and the pressure of his parents' separation.
Hip-hop dance crew *Superhoodz *, rock band *the Wolfe Brothers *and comedian *Sam McCool *also impressed the judges.
However, *Pip the Comic Illusionist *left them confused by his performance with McFadden saying it needed some work.
Voting is now open and the top three most popular acts will be revealed on next week's show with the most popular going straight through to the finals showdown. The judges will then decide between the remaining two acts on who they will send through.
The second AGT semifinal will air next Wednesday at 7.30pm on Seven/GWN7.
