Ironman *Caine Eckstein *is trying not to take his elimination from Dancing with the Stars too personally.

The hunky sportsman, who was paired with professional dancer *Jessica Prince *, above, said he realised there was more to the competition than dancing and if you didn't please the public as well as the judges then you had no hope.

"Everyone says it's not really a dancing competition - it's more getting out there and putting on a show - and that's what *Brian Mannix *and *Brendan Fevola *do," he told _Access All Areas _.

And according to Eckstein, the judges need to cut *Shannon Noll *in particular some slack.

Noll was given a hammering for his dance with partner * Elena Samodanova *on Sunday night.

"He's probably one of the most serious blokes I've ever met, he takes it all to heart," Eckstein said.

"He puts a lot into it and when all the judges say all their comments to him he definitely thinks about it and takes it to heart. He's a really nice guy."

Eckstein is now in the off-season of his ironman training until October and plans to head to the US with his girlfriend for a holiday.
