A pearler of an ambassador

Timeless, elegant and inspirational, Australian actress Grace Huang was the obvious choice for WA jeweller Kailis Australian Pearls when it came to selecting its latest ambassador.

The Taiwan-born, Sydney-raised star is making waves in Hollywood, most recently appearing in science-fiction flick Infini alongside Daniel MacPherson and Luke Hemsworth in addition to several other TV and film projects.

As Kailis expanded into the Asia market, it was searching for an accomplished ambassador who would speak to both its new customers and loyal Australian fan base, and it found its match in Huang.

Following in the footsteps of fellow face Natalie Imbruglia, Huang toldAAA she was excited to join the Kailis family.

“I believe every woman should own a piece of jewellery that makes them feel confident whenever they wear it and not have to worry about whether it is appropriate and ‘on trend’,” she explained.

“Pearls are classic and timeless. Every woman who wears pearls radiates confidence and with the many designs available from the Kailis range, there really is something to suit every woman and outfit.”

Huang said she believed the brand would be embraced by the Asian market because they appreciated quality, investment pieces rather than disposable fashion. She added her personal style was very much in line with the Kailis aesthetic.

“My style has evolved over the years and now, because I travel so much, I like classic pieces of clothing that can be mixed and matched to create amazing outfits,” Huang said.

“I like to be understated as it’s more timeless and I accentuate with accessories such as a statement bag, beautiful jewellery and watch.”

As her star continues to rise on a local and international level, Huang said she was pleased to be considered an inspiration to other women.

However, she added the key message she wanted to instill in others was to embrace their own sense of individuality.

“I think as women, we are inundated with such levels of immense pressure and expectations (from others and ones we place on ourselves) to be ‘perfect’,” Huang said.

“I constantly remind myself that there is no definitive model of perfection, we are all different, and that we need to not lose ourselves in the quest for that. We should strive to be the best we can be but also love our imperfections. It’s that individuality that makes us unique.”
