My Kitchen Rules has been rocked by the shock withdrawal of Vicky and Celine Kaponias.

The Adelaide mother-daughter duo were forced to withdraw from the smash-hit Seven reality series in last night's episode after Celine contracted severe food poisoning from something she ate off camera.

"I went into hospital in Sydney and then had to fly back to Adelaide to go to hospital there for 15 days," Celine explained to AAA.

"Unfortunately, we could not stay in the competition because I was away for so long."

Celine is now on the mend and the pair agreed that they would jump at the chance to appear on the show again after their journey was cut short during the first week at Kitchen Headquarters.

"We got used to the pressure after a while and we were starting to work really well together," Celine said.

"I have a feeling we could have smashed it, so it did feel like we were a bit cheated.

"If the chance to be on the show came up again, we would 100 per cent go for it."

Celine is now enrolled in a radio course in the hope she can land a spot on the Adelaide airwaves, while Vicky is planning a cookbook inspired by her father, who is one of South Australia's top Greek chefs.

"It would just be a little tribute to my dad because that's where we get our love of food from," Vicky said.
