Europe calls for talented dancer

She may only be 10 but this Perth dancer has captured the attention of some of the world's most prestigious ballet schools.

Naturally talented, bursting with enthusiasm and unafraid of hard work, it is hardly surprising that Ayesha Lucido could well become one of the country's most successful dancers.

She juggles her home-schooling with about 25 hours a week of training at the Perth School of Ballet.

Sore muscles are part and parcel of Ayesha's training regimen but it is "always worth the effort".

"I love it so much," she said of ballet. "I love how you get to express your feelings. It can be difficult and tiring but you get over it."

Ayesha, who has been dancing since the age of two, has been accepted into the summer intensive programs at the Royal Ballet School in London and the Paris Opera Ballet School and a training program at the Australian Ballet School.

"Ayesha is an extremely talented little girl and very bright," Perth School of Ballet principal director Simone Jackson-Pike said.

"If you are invited into these programs, they then hopefully invite you to join their school."
