LA a natural move for model Reece

From growing up on a farm in WA to working alongside Heidi Klum and Ellen DeGeneres, Reece Carter has achieved more than most in his 26 years.

Raised among wheat fields, flocks of sheep and homegrown veggie patches in the small town of Tammin, Carter moved to Melbourne and began modelling in his late teens.

He has since booked gigs for high-profile brands including Adidas, Myer and Calvin Klein.

Two years ago, in-between modelling and studying naturopathy, Carter was spotted by producers from the Ellen show, who encouraged him to enter a modelling competition the talk-show queen was hosting while Down Under.

“It was amazing,” he told AAA Weekend of the experience, which gave him a taste of life in the spotlight.

“It was so whirlwind and unexpected. I entered and then all of a sudden I was on stage in Melbourne in front of 10,000 people, which was absolute insanity. I felt like a rock star.”

After winning the competition the hunk was flown to Los Angeles for more filming, where he was thrilled to discover a large community of people who shared his keen interest in natural health and wellness.

Having now completed his studies, Carter is preparing to relocate to LA in the hopes of making a name for himself and to spread the word about his herbal-tea range, Sum T.

“It makes sense to head over,” Carter said. “They have this insane natural wellness industry over there. Everybody is green-juicing, going to yoga and meditating. I’ve been speaking to a few people in TV and publishing about building my brand and sharing my degree in naturopathy and herbal medicine with the public.”

Though he’s already achieved so much, the buff model/naturopath still has a few goals on his to-do list, such as releasing a book of recipes inspired by his 93-year-old grandfather’s passion for growing fruits, vegetables and herbs.
