Gemma Ward shares photos of baby bliss

She has been famously guarded about her private life in the past but it appears Gemma Ward is now keen to share more of her world with fans.

The supermodel, who grew up in Nedlands, previously shied away from the spotlight.

Only a handful of images of her baby daughter had surfaced on her friends' Instagram accounts but they were often quickly deleted after being posted.

But after stepping back on the catwalk last year for Prada following a six-year hiatus, Ward has begun to relax her approach and recently changed her social media settings to public.

In between snaps of her modelling work, the 27-year-old has been sharing glimpses into her life as a mother to 14-month-old Naia.

This week she uploaded a snap of her cuddling the 14-month-old at the beach, where Ward is seen with her eyes closed and a big smile on her face.

She also posted a funny video of the toddler attempting to stand on a surfboard on the sand but falling over, which she captioned “hanging 10”.

Other clips from the past week show Naia learning how to say her name, calling out “Mum” to a giggling Ward and playing with some young friends.

With two model parents – her dad is Sydney looker David Letts – Naia has already had her first taste of the fashion industry after she posed alongside her famous mum for a Country Road Campaign last year.

Ward has been balancing motherhood with her recent comeback, which has already seen her grace the cover of Vogue Australia and pose for Prada’s new campaign.

But, as photos from her Instagram account show, she has also made time to connect with long time friends and fellow WA beauties Nicole Trunfio and Jessica Gomes.

Ward recently posted a series of shots of the trio together in Byron Bay before Trunfio returned to the US to give birth to her first child last month.

They visited the beach and also took part in a sunset yoga class in the NSW coastal destination.

The three women have been friends since their mid-teens when they met through the same Perth modelling agency.
