Kat and Andre's wedding rules

It doesn't get more stressful than planning a wedding while competing in the pressure- cooker environment of My Kitchen Rules - just ask *Katherine "Kat" Donald-Hill * and *Andre Pagano *.

  • WA *'s "feisty foodies" tied the knot by the *Swan River *at *Pelican Point *last month after a year-long planning process that coincided with filming for the hit Seven TV show, which saw them jet around Australia and compete in a series of high-stakes cook-offs.

At one point, Pagano was even afraid he and Donald-Hill might not actually be able to pull off their dream big day.

"It was probably the month before we went on the show that Kat organised most of the wedding but we were still tying up loose ends when we were filming," he revealed to _AAA Weekend _.

"It was pretty hectic and I was kind of worried at the time because it didn't seem like Kat was going to be able to pull it off. But she did and it was really awesome."

The *North Perth *couple chose Pelican Point for the nuptials because it is their favourite place in WA and has a "lovely sense of Zen" about it.

They both agree it was the best day of their lives, from the gourmet catering to the dance fest that was the reception. But Donald-Hill said there was one moment of the ceremony that will stay with her forever.

"My favourite moment was walking down the aisle, seeing Andre there and having my godfather next to me," the 31-year- old said.

"It was so emotional because my dad couldn't be there; he passed away a few years ago. Seeing my new husband and having this wave of nostalgia, it was pretty special."

On the other hand, Pagano said he was rendered speechless when he first caught a glimpse of his bride in her silk Johanna Johnson wedding dress.

With filming for My Kitchen Rules now complete, the newlyweds are looking forward to enjoying marital bliss, though they admit they don't feel any different now that they are husband and wife.

"Life hasn't really changed since we got married but it's pretty cool wearing a wedding ring around," Pagano said with a laugh.

Donald-Hill added: "We are probably less stressed because we are not recording the show any more, so we have been able to sit back and enjoy each other's company without having cameras directed at us."
