Malaysia bans Fifty Shades of Grey

Fifty Shades of Grey has reportedly been deemed too "unnatural" and "sadistic" for Malaysian cinemas.

Its chairman Abdul Halim Abdul Hamid said the film was more "pornography than a movie", according to Malaysia's Star Online.

"The board made a decision in view of the film containing scenes that are not of natural sexual content," he said.

"The content is more sadistic, featuring scenes of a woman being tied to a bed and whipped."

The film has faced protest in numerous countries.

In the Philippines, the film's sex scenes will reportedly be censored after protests from religious groups.
