Prince deletes social media accounts
Soul superstar Prince has unexpectedly deleted his Facebook and Twitter accounts and removed a string of his music videos from YouTube.
The Purple Rain hitmaker recently delighted fans by posting his first selfie on his social networking profile, but it appears he has since had a change of heart about connecting with fans online after deleting his page.
He has also deactivated the Twitter account he used to promote his backing band 3rdEyeGirl without any explanation.
Prince devotees searching for some of his promos will also have a tough time finding them online - a host of videos from his Princevevo channel have been taken down, leaving just two clips of his song Breakfast Can Wait and footage from an interview.
A representative for the reclusive superstar has declined to comment.
