Gale lands role in Crowe WWI movie

While her role in the highly anticipated Mad Max reboot is not set to be seen until mid-next year, *Megan Gale *will make her big-screen debut in December after landing a part in *Russell Crowe *'s Gallipoli film, The Water Diviner.

Crowe hand-picked the *WA * model for the role in the film, which opens on Boxing Day and was shot primarily in South Australia and Turkey.

"I play a Turkish woman, postwar, which is very different for me," Gale, above, said this week. "It's a really small role but it was a role that Russell Crowe asked me to audition for so, of course, I was there in a flash.

"I've also seen some of Mad Max, too, and it looks amazing, so I can't wait for that to come out in the middle of next year."

Crowe also stars in the film that tells the story of a father travelling to Gallipoli to find his three sons who fought there, and he has chosen Sydney to host the world premiere of his film-directing debut on

December 2.

The Oscar-winning actor will walk the red carpet at Sydney's State Theatre with lead actress *Olga * * Kurylenko *as well as Australian stars *Dan Wylie *, *Steve Bastoni *, *Jacqueline McKenzie *, * *Gale and WAAPA-trained *Jai Courtney *.

"I've chosen actors from a like-minded tribe," Crowe has said of his casting choices.
