Australian author Richard Flanagan has been named as the sole Commonwealth writer short-listed for this year's Man Booker Prize. Flanagan last week claimed the honour for his Burma railway love story The Narrow Road to the Deep North. The short-listing last Wednesday came after the award was this year opened up for the first time to all novelists writing in English, paving the way for US authors to push into the distinctively Commonwealth prize. ARTS FUSION
Creative Connections brings together the paintings and poetry of artists with disability. All the exhibited paintings and poems are for sale, with 90 per cent of the proceeds going to the artists.
