Del Rey didn't sleep to fame
Lana Del Rey claims she's "slept with a lot of guys in the industry".
The 27-year-old admits she's been romantically involved with a number of famous people in the past but none of them helped kick-start her career.
"I had a long-term relationship for seven years with someone who was the head of a label and I felt like I was that change of routine. I have slept with a lot of guys in the industry but none of them helped me get my record deals, which is annoying," she told Complex magazine.
The singer recently split from her musician boyfriend Barrie-James O'Neill, who she began dating in 2011, because she wanted to feel "free". But she hinted they might get back together again.
"We are currently not together. He is a wonderful person. But there are some things with which he has to deal. I will not explain it in detail," she said previously.
"This was hard on our relationship; I no longer felt free."
Del Rey has since been spotted with Vogue photographer Francesco Carrozzini on dates in Los Angeles and New York last month and insiders claim the new romance is already getting serious.
