Priestly spills dirt on Doherty and Pitt

Nineties heartthrob Jason Priestly has exposed the diva ways of his Beverly Hills 90210 co-star Shannen Doherty and former housemate Brad Pitt's hygiene habits in a new tell-all book.

Released in the US this week, Jason Priestly: A Memoir charts the star's early days in Hollywood, from scraping by as a struggling actor to his rise to fame playing Brandon Walsh in the hit 1990s drama.

Priestly wrote of his shock at Doherty's demanding behaviour even before 90210 began to air, which included an incident where the actress queried why a town car, not a limousine, picked her up from the airport.

"But that was just the beginning," he continued. "I looked on, becoming more uneasy by the minute as she began bitching about the short notice and the food on board and the temperature in the cabin and everything else.

"She really and truly did not give a s..t … It was a very cool attitude, until it wasn't."

Priestly also revealed he and Pitt would have competitions over who could go the longest without showering while they were roommates in the late 1980s.

"Brad always won," Priestly wrote. "Having to go on an audition meant cleaning up, which is what usually put an end to the streak.

"We lived on ramen noodles and generic beer - the kind that came in white cans labelled BEER - and Marlboro Light cigarettes ... We were all broke."
