Miranda Kerr has loosened up and taught a yoga class in Tokyo as part of a marketing campaign.

The Australian model led a group of about 20 Japanese yoga practitioners through a series of movements as the public and a pack of reporters and photographers watched.

Kerr showed the same elegance and sense of balance that she displays on the runway in teaching the yoga class with the assistance of Japanese model Shiho.

Kerr, who is known for her curvy figure, posed for photographers and took questions from reporters after the class.

Yoga is essential for "maintaining physical and mental balance", she said, adding that the ancient Indian practice was "a fundamental part" of her personal exercise regimen.

Kerr, who is known for her work for Victoria's Secret and Mango, taught the yoga class at Tokyo's upscale Roppongi Hills mall for Reebok, which is rolling out a new line of shoes for the gym and walking.
