Once you put on the fishnets it's hard to take them off, at least that seems to be the case for Craig McLachlan.

The actor will reprise his role of Frank N Furter in the new Australian production of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show.

The producers of the musical Howard Panter and John Frost announced on Monday that McLachlan will be back in the role which will open in January 2014 in Brisbane.

The musical, which was adapted into the popular film in 1975, is also scheduled for seasons at Perth and Adelaide.

McLachlan has just finished shooting the title role in the second series of ABC TV's drama series The Doctor Blake Mysteries.

The Rocky Horror Show has not been seen in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide for 15 years. Tickets go on sale on Monday September 2.
