Hot on the heels of My Kitchen Rules' biggest season yet, Ten has announced the contestants for this year's MasterChef Australia - even without an air date.
The Ten reality cooking series, which is being shot in Melbourne for the first time, will go straight in with the top 22 and feature a men v women challenge.
Guest chefs on this series include Antonio Carluccio, Stephanie Alexander, Curtis Stone, Shannon Bennett, Maggie Beer and Guillaume Brahimi.
But there is just one WA competitor who will fight it out this season.
Liliana Battle is a 42-year-old stay-at-home mum who comes from a strong Italian Calabrese extended family where food was always at the centre of life.
She is based in Port Hedland with her husband of 21 years, Jason, and their two boys Jake and Jesse.
A champion ballroom dancer for 13 years, she later took up competitive bodybuilding. The past two decades have seen her focus on her family and she has a reputation for baking the best birthday cakes in town.
"I didn't grow up at my mum's side, learning how to make traditional Italian cuisine. I was a dancer, and the kitchen belonged to my mum," she said.
"The most I remember doing was running out to the garden to pick oregano or basil but I could tell by the smells if tonight's sauce was going to be a good one or not."
